I wonder why Rooney’s name doesnt figure next to Berbetov’s… The PFA judges didnt want to name the whole United team maybe..coz that’s how good thy have been!!!

Think Manu need a player like GERRARD to be recognised thats y Gerrard is in the team to emphasize this fact…

To nitish: I believe that gerrard’s reputation got him in the squad coz he did give a mind blowing performance this season for his club.

Serious contenders in this team could have been :
Sidwell of Reading, its not for no reason that many top clubs are after him.
Matthew Taylor of Portsmouth, unsung hero in an average squad.
Ben Foster of Watford, the major reason why Watford have not conceded 10 goals per game the way they defend.
Benni Mcarthy, a proven goalscorer.
Glen Johnson, does his job as it should be done.
Jamie Carragher, a rock at the back.
Gilberto Silva, what does he have to do to get the proper recognition.
Ricardo Carvalho, the best attacking defender in the league.
Michael Essien, Mr Versatile, can play for 120 minutes without rest!
There are other a few players that could have got in this team of the year.
There are so many Manchester United players coz United played very well since the start of the league, all the players in England have recognised this fact, and the team of the year shows the truth.
This squad reflects how the other players in England appreciate the style of Manchester United, fast flowing football. This is why there are so many United players in this team. They fit the puzzle very well. Likewise for Gerrard, Berbatov, and Drogba who could have graced such a team. This team rather reflects the perfect team in England, with the perfect players for each position. Rooney has not been included coz he plays as a centre forward, not as a striker.
This squad does not reflect that Liverpool is nothing without Gerrard, but what I said above, that is Gerrard’s style of play does not fit in Liverpool’s team at all. He would cause havoc in a team playing fast flowing attacking football. Its not me who is saying this, its what most professional football players in England think.

Wow…Such a lengthy comment!!!
This guy is either a football maniac or plays onlinesoccermanager too much.
Firstly, the squad obviously shows the best squad in england, otherwise they would not have been nominated!!!
Secondly, i really appreciated the fact that kamal shares the same thought as mine…What thought?
Obviously the FACT that Gerrard’s style of play does not fit in Liverpool’s current TEAM
